Paul E. Sublett, 56, of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home. He was born August 12, 1958 in Sterling, IL. He was preceded in death by his father Esker Sublett and his step-father James Apple.
Paul enjoyed Pre-1840 Living History Re-enactments, fishing, and all kinds of crafts.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Apple of Sterling, IL; son Jason Sublett of Greenbrier (Trisha Oligur) of Harrison; daughter Chelsea Burks (Kenneth) of Benton; two grandchildren Abby and Braxton Burks; two brothers Terry Sublett (Margie) of Mt. Vernon, AR and Phillip Sublett (Rhonda) of Dixon, IL; sister Debra Crump (Karson) of Rock Falls, IL. He is also survived by a special friend James Barbarotto (Tracy) of Greenbrier.
Graveside service will be 10:00am. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Bethesda Cemetery in Rose Bud.
So sorry to hear this, I enjoyed reading Paul's posts funny and caring. My condolences to Phil, family and friends. A very nice man you will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. I have many memories of both Phil and Paul during high school choir.
We are so sorry about Paul's passing. We've been praying and thinking of you all. So sorry we were unable to be there in person today. God Bless you Aunt Sue, Phil, Terry, Debra, Jason and Chelsea. May God give you all a special portion of comfort and peace. Love you.

It is with great sadness to hear of Paul's passing. Paul & I were good friends in High School. I wish the rest of the family comfort during this time of sorrow. May God bless you all.

I knew Paul for about 15 years. I enjoyed talking around campfires, his discussions on history and many other topics. Rest in peace, Paul.
