Colonel Madewell

of Harrison, AR

December 21, 1944 - June 25, 2014

Colonel ''Cob'' Madewell Jr., age 69, of Harrison, passed away with his family by his side, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born December 21, 1944, to C.C. and Murlie Moss Madewell, in Parthenon, AR.

A lifelong resident of Newton and Boone Counties, Cob married the love of his life, Kathyrn Brisco November 12, 1965, in Harrison officiated by TP Sanders. He retired from Duncan Parking Meter after 33 years and he owned and operated Madewell Auto Sales in Harrison. He enjoyed working on cars, truck pulls and racing. If it was broke and Cob couldn't fix it, it must have been a Ford. He loved his girls and spoiling his granddaughters; they were always able to make him smile.

He is survived by his wife, Kathyrn Brisco Madewell; two daughters, Sandra Russell and husband Scott of Green Forest and Kelly Madewell of Harrison; three granddaughters, Alysa Russell, Bryanna Russell, and Lakyn Madewell.

He is also survived by his brother, Tom Madewell, of Yakima, Washington; his sister, Hazel Harding and husband Tommy of Pruitt; her sister-in-law, Dona Madewell, of Independence, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and sister-in-law, Rex Madewell and John Frank and Hildred Madewell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Roy Webb and Vivian and Earl Smith; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Verlin and Hester Brisco.

Funeral service was Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Johnny McKinley and Billy Paul Matlock officiating.

Interment was in Jasper Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Willie Bennett, Ernie Russell, Steve Cates, Dale Goucher, Don Trublood, Tommy Harding, Tim Roberson and Jeff Davis.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Tom Langston, Jana Lou and staff, Dr. Churchhill and staff, Dr. Bogo and staff, Dr. Soloman and staff, Sherman Smith, Alex Wyatt and his co-workers at Duncan Parking Meter.

Katherine so sorry to hear about Cobb. What stories he and Eugene had to share and all of the car parts they sold and traded would fill a book.. But what fun they had doing it..
Prayers for you and family in the days ahead.
He will be missed by a lot of people but not the way you will miss him. Wishing the best for you and family
Prayers,
