Mr. Calvin Cates, age 80, of Austin Community passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Center Ridge, Arkansas. He was born August 6, 1932 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to Jim and Ludy (Pearson) Cates. He was a hard working retired dairy farmer and loving father who enjoyed being around his family and running fox hounds. He was greatly loved and is going to be missed.
He is survived by 4 sons: Jim (Patricia A.) Cates of Center Ridge, Dan Cates of Bee Branch, Richard (Patricia H.) Cates of Bee Branch, and Kent (Jackie) Cates of Clinton; 4 daughters: Jannette Cates of Bee Branch, Joyce (Doug) Stapleton of Formosa, Sarah Remetch of Harriett, and Elizabeth Koone of Bee Branch; 3 step-sons: Ricky(Betty) Brewer of Bee Branch, Rocky (Ambie) Brewer of Clinton, and Bobby Brewer of Bee Branch; 3 step-daughters: Carolyn (Donnie) Bourroughs of Bee Branch, Marilyn Brewer of Morganton, and Gaylon (Bruce) Garrett of Dennard; 31 grandchildren, and 70+ great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Dorothy Harmon, second wife: Mary Lee Harmon, and son: Kenny Ray Cates.
Visitation will be 5-8:00pm, Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Roller Funeral Home Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Monday, September 24, 2012 at Roller Chapel Clinton. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
