Mother Minnie Baggett, 85, of Batesville, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born in Wabbaseka, Arkansas on Saturday, March 27, 1926, she was the daughter of Ed Tharrington and Alberta (Nathaniel) Tharrington. She was a member of the Highway of Holiness Church in Kensett, Arkansas and a homemaker. She was always trying to help others and her church and family were her life.
Survivors include six sons: Leon Baggett of Chicago, Illinois; Eddie Baggett of Batesville; Glenn Baggett of Jacksonville, Florida; Kenneth Baggett of Batesville; Kelvin Baggett of Jonesboro; Joe Roby of Batesville; six daughters: Mary Walker of Cave City; Dorothy Baggett of Dallas, Texas; Lee Etta Baggett of Jonesboro; Melvina Childress, Ruth Baggett, and Elizabeth Baggett all of Batesville; thirty-nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Tharrington of Gary, Indiana; Ernest Tharrington of Cave City; and one sister, Beatrice Johnson of Chicago, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. Lee Baggett; a son, Jerry Lee Baggett, Jr.; and nineteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the First New Testament Holiness Church in Batesville with E. L. Walker, Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be his sons. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Walker, Quincy Childress, Patrick Farris, Jason Farris, Ryan Baggett, Mahlon Hall, Clinton Robison, Jr. and James Farris, Jr.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
I miss you more now than I did in the weeks following your passing. Nothing can ever replace you with me. I'm so thankful that God loaned you to me for a time. I can only say that God gave us His best. I love you so much Mom! I will never forget what you gave to me. Thank You!!!
