I learned way too late about Steve's passing. I lived on Barbara Drive where the Grobers lived for a while as missionaries. (early 70's) Mr. & Mrs. Grober were 2 of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever met. They invited me to dinner, gave me rides to summer school and allowed me to play in their yard until I was tired. Now, there is a major empty space in my heart since these 3 people are no longer with us.
I will see them again some day.

Thanks Steve for being one of my best friends since our days as kids growing up in Belem, Brasil. I will always remember so many things we did together, but none stand out more than playing futebol at Para Clube. Thanks for making a difference in my life when I came back to Ouachita. You helped me adapt to the American culture more than anyone else. You are a true friend and brother.

Mike, Cindy, and Sherry -- you are in our prayers as you say so long for a little while to Stephen. I'll never forget some of the times we saw you on a furlough in Kentucky when we were kids. After Stephen's heart surgery he told us that the doctors had put a zipper in his chest so they could get back in there later. I believed that for about 10 minutes. I believe he had a good dose of his Dad's sense of humor and a whole lot of his Mom's heart. We're missing him with you. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Love and prayers are with you guys.

Thanks for all the memories......like the time you made me ride with an injured duck on my lap for 3 hours. Or taking off camping at 1am only to wake up freezing in a trashdump. You didn't know that "pillow" was an empty oil can....too many more to mention. I love ya - always have and always will.

Steve you were always a dear friend. You always treated everyone with a lot of respect. I'll never forget the times that you went with me to never go see John Mellencamp concerts, especially the time we went to Normal, IL. and got within 1 hour of hour of Normal only to find the concert had been canceled. I asked you if you wanted to go onto to Normal and you looked at me and said I don't know anyone in Normal, IL.. You always had ways to see the best situation.
I'll miss you and love you.
My condolences to Steve's family and the many friends Steve had.

My dearest friend. My Brother. My closest ally and confidant. Grob, I remember so many good times that they would be impossible to count. Camping, hunting, boating, 4 wheeling, rock hounding, gaming, fishing and hiking. And what a lucky guy you have always been. I will miss rubbing up against you to attempt to improve my luck. Hope you left a little of it behind for me. We had a bond fire saturday night and I was thinkin about ya, wishing you could be there. It's just hard to believe I won't see you again this week, or the next week, but I know your in your mother and father's arms inside the gates of heaven. I will miss you my friend. Untill we meet again, long may you run.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your familiy.

He meant alot to me. He was there for me when I needed a friend. I will miss him very much.
