Ralph Robinson (Rob) Hale, 69, life-long resident of Marion died Thursday, July 2, at his home. He was born May 11, 1940, to the late James Cecil Hale and Jean Hale of Marion. Mr. Hale leaves his brother, James C. Hale, Jr. of Proctor and his sister, Jeanie Hale Martz of Marion. Mr. Hale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie Stewart Hale and two sons, Matt and wife Susan and Jay and wife Dickie, both of Marion. He was predeceased by another son, Rob Hale, Jr. He leaves eight grandchildren, Trip, Elaine, Jake, Haley, Jane Ellen, Julia, Harris and Joseph. Mr. Hale attended Marion Schools k-12 and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He also attended Memphis State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Hale was well-known in the real estate and construction business in Crittenden County and was an avid fisherman, hunter and conservationist. The visitation will be Sunday July 5, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, AR. The service will be Monday July 6, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Marion United Methodist Church with interment in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion. Memorials may be sent to First Evangelical Church in Memphis, TN, Marion United Methodist Church in Marion, AR or to the charity of the donor's choice.

We were so saddened to hear of Rob's passing. Memories of my childhood and so many happy hours at the lake or on the river with "the Hales" keep flooding my mind. I will cherish those memories even more now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We have just heard of your loss today. The five years that mom and I were at the shop your family meant so much to us. Mr. Rob was such a sweet man and Jack loved him so much! I'm so happy to have known him and the rest of your family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. He will definately be missed by many. Mrs. Connie, I know I have not kept in touch lately, but your a very special lady and mean so much to our family. May God give you peace and comfort during this very difficult time.
