Clara M. Gasaway, 86, of Jonesboro, Arkansas entered her new life on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her residence.
She was born July 12, 1921, in Jonesboro, Arkansas into the family of Luke and Lucinda Cash Calkin. She was a homemaker and cook she loved sewing, cooking, and arts and crafts. She was a member of Greensboro Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, John Gasaway, Jr. of Mabelvale; two daughters, Rebecca Grimshaw of Conway and Jennifer Walker of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Mary Grimshaw, Jenny Walker, Catherine Gasaway and Elizabeth Gasaway; three brothers, Paul Calkin and Will Calkin both of Jonesboro, and Robert Calkin of Peoria, IL; and one sister, Mary Lou Payton of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Gasaway, a daughter, Bonnie Valenzuela, her parents and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Greensboro Road Church of Christ with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will follow in Keller's Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John Robertson, Bill Berry, Nathan Marshall, Bill Willard, Mike Felts, Marshall Land, Bill Baker, Bill Workman and Bobby Kindle.
Honorable pallbearers will be Church Elders and Leo Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

To all the family especially Jennifer and Jenny I am so sorry for your loss Ms. Clara was a sweet dear friend and I will miss her deeply. All of you are in my prayers and thoughts. I will always think of her when I go get corn and strawberries every year I would always pick her some up so she would have plenty for when the kids came over. You all had a special mom

Jennifer and John, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Clara was such a wonderful person and I will never forget the times we had working together at Bowen's Restaurant and other places. She was definitely a jewel. My heart goes out to you and you both are in my thoughts and prayers.
