He was a member of First Baptist church in Benton and a 1955 graduate of Bryant High School. He attended Little Rock University and opened his own accounting practice in 1965, where for the next 40 years his children and grandchildren played and were raised. Mr. Chilton was preceded in death by his father, Joel Chilton, mother, Agurtha Hunt Chilton, brother, Charles Chilton and sister, Eva Chilton.

After battling a series of surgeries and complications, he left his loving family to be with the Lord on March 12, 2008. He was a faithful and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his kindness, gentleness, and humor.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery on Highway 10. Pallbearers will be Russell Goodwin, Lanny Fite, Robert Cloud, Joey Chilton, Fred Swaim, Gerald Francis, Arnold Wright, and Alton Robertson.

Found out too late to get there. Our prayers are with you in this difficult time. Tooter was a great friend. I will dearly miss our long talks and laughs. Don't recall ever having a conversation that he didn't smile and proudly speak of you kids and grandchildren. What a guy......

Although our hearts are broken at the loss of a most beloved friend, we rejoice in the assurance that Tooterbill is now home, safe and well in the loving arms of our Father. We celebrate the precious memories of a great friendship that will never be forgotten and look forward to the day we are all reunited for an eternity. It is our earnest prayer that the family will find strength from our loving God and from the love of earthly friends to help ease the hurt during this time of loss. Mark, Renee, Eric & Ken: It is hard to remember a time in my life when I did not know your Dad. It seemed that wherever any of you were, he was there with you, quietly supporting and encouraging you. Through all that he did in the community, he also impacted the lives of many other people. You can be proud of him, and you can now be thankful that he is in the presence of a Holy God that loves him, and us, more than we can imagine.

With greatest sympathy I think of you all in your loss and know your father and Pa Toot will be missed every day. I personally will always recall the pride and joy he had in his family by the huge smile on his face each time I asked about you. Of course, most usually he didn't wait to be asked. He loved all of you with his every fiber of being.

To the Chilton family: I was very saddened to read about Mr. Ken's passing in the Courier. Mr. Ken was such a wonderful man and was always pleasant to me. Let me say, a good 'ole country boy. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord keep each of you in His care during this time of healing. In Christ, Sandy (Fortner) Johnson
