Rolland "Evon" Sharp, 67, of Floral passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
He was born on February 15, 1952 in Batesville, Arkansas to Rolland Donald Sharp and Betty Mona (Gay) Sharp.
Evon was a loving, trustworthy, selfless man who could always keep the peace. He was a lifetime member of Floral Baptist Church where he taught a Sunday school class and operated their sound and music; he was also ordained as Deacon in 1981. Evon worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years for Julian Martin, Ronnie Dowdy and Bill Davis. He served on the School Board at Floral and Midland for 20 years, coached softball in Batesville for 12 years and loved NASCAR.
Survivors include his father, Rolland D. Sharp and step-mother, Norma Sharp of Searcy; wife of 48 years, Connie (Garner) Sharp of the home; one son, Greg Sharp (Tammy) of Floral; one daughter, Amy Wood (Nathan) of Pleasant Plains; seven grandchildren, Ashley Sample, Catherine Sharp, Caroline Sharp, Gabe Sharp, Abigail Wood, Cade Wood and Heith Wood; three great-grandchildren, Brent Sample, Ellie Sample and Porter Sample; one brother, Randy Sharp (Kathy) of Floral; one sister, Betty Stuart of Banner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Rita Sharp; and one infant brother.
Pallbearers are Aaron Sharp, Wes Stuart, Phillip Sexton, Mark Biram, Phillip Sample and Tommy Gay. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Gould, Lanny Frazier and Phillip Gay.
Funeral services will begin at 2 pm Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Floral Baptist Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Bro. Mike Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Cedar Grove.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the funeral home.

I thought so much of Evon and admired his kindness to everyone. Connie and family many prayers God be with youðŸ™ðŸ’–
I had the privilege of working with Evon for a number of years, JMI Transport and Bill Davis Trucking. He was an awesome person. He will be missed. I am praying for the family, that God comforts them and gives them peace!

Dear Connie and family, love you all and Evon was a Christ like man. Praying the Lord surround you with His loving arms and give you peace and comfort . So sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral. I fell and broke my hip and still home bound.

Your's and Evon's love story was an inspiration and hope for so many. He was a wonderful, kind and thoughtful man that was respected and liked by so many. His character and integrity was always part of who he was....I admired him for sure. My prayers and love go out to you and your family as you grieve. God bless and comfort you.

So sore for your loss. May God wrap his arms around during this time and the days ahead. Evon was one of a kind. He had so much love in him that you wish everyone had the love that he had in him. There was so much fun times growing up and you and Evon helped me out at a time when I needed you and you were there for me. You have both always had a place in my heart for you. Love you all. One day we’ll see him again and what a great reunion that will be.
