Vergilene (Stone) Anderson, 71, of Cord passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
She was born on October 19, 1947 in Dowdy, Arkansas to Virgil and Oneda (Dawson) Stone.
She loved her family, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; she was a homemaker for many years and then went on to be manager of Fred's Fish House for 15 years she also worked at many other local businesses before retiring.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jay Anderson; one son, Greg Anderson (Melissa) of Southside; one daughter, Deborah Cockrill (Alan) of Batesville; one brother, Eddie Keith Stone of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Meagan Conyers (Justin), Matthew Anderson (Kelly), Hayden Cockrill (Colby), and Mason Anderson; and five great-grandsons, Ray, Wyatt, Wynn, Rhett, and Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers are Matthew Anderson, Hayden Cockrill, Justin Conyers, Alan Cockrill, Wayne Anderson, and David Hix. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Anderson, Rusty Paul, Pat Melton, and Randy Ward.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Oak Ridge Methodist Church with Tracey Grissom officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
