Charles Ewing Marable, Jr. was born June 1, 1930 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis to Charles Ewing and Lorene Askew Marable.
He grew up in Erin, TN where he attended school grades 1-8. He attended Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, TN grades 9-12. Attended one semester at Memphis State University, then Austin Peay College in Clarksville, TN for 2 years. He joined the Air Force in December 1950 - August 1954. Returned to Austin Peay to graduate in May 1956 with B.S. Distribution Major in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Attended U.T. Knoxville post graduate.
He began work for Parke Davis & Co as a pharmaceutical representative in August 1958 in Batesville, AR. He owned and operated Four Corners Apartments in Batesville. Retired from Pfizer in 1986. He was awarded salesman of the year three years during his career.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and mother of his children, Winnie Beard Marable, and his son, Mark Henry Marable. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 22 ½ years, Shirlye Marable; sons, Dr. C.T. Marable of Franklin, TN, Kipp Marable (Susan) of Moorefield, daughter, Julia Marable of Rogers, AR and two bonus sons , Kevin Garner (Ilene) of Severna Park, MD, Kyle Garner of Little Rock, and four grandchildren, Morgan Marable, Alexandra Marable Boyd (Christian), Trenton Marable, and Beck Marable of Franklin, TN. He also leaves three bonus grand-daughters, Madelaine Garner, Jessica Garner, and Makenna Weidower.
He was a 50 yr. Mason, member of First Baptist Church in Batesville. He loved his family and friends, his farm, growing things, and doing stained glass.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Batesville with Rev. Stacy Reed officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Roller-Crouch Chapel.
I just want to express my condolences to you and your family. We have known each other for a short time, but I appreciate your being my neighbors and friends. Charles will be missed. May you find comfort in your wonderful memories with him and that he now rests peacefully in heaven.
