Jay Lee Burks, 54, of Fairfield Bay passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
He was born on July 12, 1964 in Searcy to Oliver and Bennie (Mathis) Burks.
Jay was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, camping as well as watching and playing sports; he genuinely enjoyed life. There will be a lot of laughter in heaven because now that Jay is there he will have everyone laughing.
Survivors include his mother; his sister, Michelle Canchalo of North Little Rock; his uncle, Bill Dollar of Fayetteville; and two aunts Kathy Edmisten of Huntsville and Terrie Pennington of Bentonville.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Mark McDonald officiating.

I went to school with Michelle and later became friends with Jay. He could put a smile on your face and sunshine in a cloudy day. If there was a silver lining he found it. If there was a funny story he told it. If you needed help he was there. One of a kind. Blessed to have known him. My deepest sympathies to the family.
