Donnie Ray Griffin, 77, of Desha died Saturday, January 5, 2019.
He was born on Monday, June 9, 1941 in Weldon, Arkansas to Woodrow Thomas and Stella Mae (Harris) Griffin.
Donnie Griffin was a loving husband who was always humble and kind. He received tremendous joy from his kids and grandkids. Donnie was a great provider for his family and always willing to help. He was also a good listener and always ready and willing to give advice. His hobbies were to hunt and fish, along with watching NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a mechanic for 65 years who loved to work on motors.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pansy (Hunter) Griffin, whom he married on August 6, 1968; two sons, Brian Garrett (Sceleta) of Bradford, Brad Garrett (Shelley) of Desha; two daughters, Billie Fuller (Bill) of Desha, Lori Galloway (Shawn) of Floral; one daughter-in-law, Avanell Griffin of Searcy; one special niece, Teresa Scroggins; one brother, Phillip Griffin (Veheda) of Pleasant Plains; one aunt, Opal Voyles of Pleasant Plains; several cousins; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew and other relatives and friends.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald Ray Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Matt Fuller, Cory Fuller, Zach Garrett, Colton Garrett, Nick Garrett, Christopher Galloway, Thomas Faircloth, and JJ Scroggins.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Arnold, Robert Smith, Justin Adair, Shannon Scroggins, Jayden Scroggins, Josh Elam, Jamaal Whiters, and Rocky Sutton.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville, Arkansas with Christopher Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Alderbrook cemetery at Desha, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
