Benard ''Bennie'' Schluterman, 98, of Paris, Arkansas passed on to his heavenly reward on Friday, July 31, 2020 with Marie, his wife of 74 years, holding his hand. He was born on November 10, 1921 in Subiaco to his parents, Ben and Mary (Forst) Schluterman.
Benard was a WWII veteran stationed in Okinawa and Guam in the Pacific theatre. He was a lifelong farmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco, the Knights of Columbus Council 3787 and the St. Benedict Men's Society.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary (Forst) Schluterman; one daughter, Rita Kay Schluterman; four sisters, Margaret Binz, Mary Ann Komp, Anna Marie Schluterman and Lucille Schluterman; four brothers, Ernest Schluterman, Frank Schluterman, Albert Schluterman and Eugene Schluterman and one son in law, Philip Schneider.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Komp) Schluterman of Paris; three daughters, Rose Schneider of Subiaco, Theresa Naegle and husband Bill of Paris and Joan Johnson of Scranton; two sons, Mike Schluterman and wife Gina of Paris and Kenny Schluterman and wife Cindy of Paris; seventeen grandchildren, Becky Domon, Shane Schneider, Keith, Amy, Adam, Alex and Tyler Schluterman, Julie Mikles, Jennifer Koch, Marie Burdine, Craig Schluterman, Andy, Joey and Michelle Naegle, Melissa Dietz, Amanda Bean and Mark Johnson; 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m., on Monday, August 3, 2020 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 St. Benedict Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mark Stengel, O.S.B.. Burial will follow in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines, all attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

Any time dad and Benny got together you could count on laughing so hard your side hurt. The stories they shared about their years growing up together were always fun to listen to. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially his family. May God grant him eternal rest

When our daughter married into the Schluterman family, Benny and Marie made us feel welcome. He was a blessing to all that knew him and a great teller of tales!
God bless all of the Schluterman family at this time for your loss. Absolutely loved and adored Grandpa Schluterman. He made me laugh at all his great stories, even if i heard the same one over and over.

I know his children greatly respected him too. When he set a curfew his children adhered to it, ain’t that right Kenny? I know he is up there watching his family right now.

God blessed Benny with a long fruitful life he was a very kind friendly man with a caring family. I graduated with Joan n new others but my best memories were in growing up my dad was Lyndell(Coonie)Hickman an he worked some for Benny working the fields driving tractors are whatever was needed to get things done. He had a friendly personality n my folks had a lot of respect for him. Now he is reached his Heavenly reward n someday see him again until then May God Bless n keep all of this family as you grieve for your loved one.
