Samuel Arthur Jennings, age 94 of Harrison, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12th, 2019 at his home. He was born in Leslie, Arkansas on January 22nd, 1925 to Frank Jennings and Lena Barr Jennings. Sam married Claudia Vidana Stephenson on May 7th, 1948. Sam became a Christian in 1968. He and Vidana attended Shiloh Baptist Church until health prevented them from attending.

Sam was one of five sons and two daughters. He spent his early years working on the farm with his dad while his four brothers were serving in World War II. He then worked for the soil conservation service and later ran a milk route to Mount Ida before the cheese plant moved to Marshall. He worked at the Searcy County Auction Company and also farmed. After he retired and Vidana retired from teaching, they spent many happy times traveling 47 of the 48 mainland states with various tour groups.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lena Jennings; his wife, Vidana Jennings who passed away on March 27th, 2018; four brothers, Barr, Cecil, Duvol and Leonard Jennings; one sister, Noreen Fineberg Bensch; nephews, Cecil Ray Jennings, Jr. and Dennis Fineberg; and one niece, Diane Fineberg.

Survivors include one sister, Ramona Beavers of Harrison; sister-in-law, Verlie Jennings of Liberal Kansas; six nieces, Patricia (Jim) Dyer, Delores (Hubert) Peterson, Gayle (James) Tilley, Sue (Roger) Ratchford, Denise Lee and Brook (Cameron) Horton; two nephews, Terry (Kathy) Jennings and Larry (Tammy) Jennings; and a very dear friend and caregiver, Tina Hovis of Harrison.

Funeral services for Sam will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Sean Milliken officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Chester Taylor, James Tilley, Roger Ratchford, Joe Bennett and Jody Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Curtis, Rick Curtis, Larry Hovis, Ted McElroy, Paul Wilbanks, Perry Harness, Mitch Williams, Jason Bowser and Dr. Geoffery Dunaway. At the family's request, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills, PO Box 1927, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
