April 11, 1935 - May 13, 2018
Chief QMC (Ret.) Jasper Lee Sampson, Jr., 83, of Jacksonville, reunited with his wife in Heaven on May 13, 2018. He was born April 11, 1935 to Jasper Lee and Lizzie Mae Sampson in Pine Bluff. He is preceded in death by his father, Jasper Lee Sampson, Sr.; mother, Lizzie Mae (Thompson) McGregor; wife, Bernice ''East'' Sampson; sister, Eunice Collins; and brother, David C. Sampson.
Jasper was in the NAVY for 22 years where he served on numerous ships and retired on the USS Harold E. Holt {DE 1074} and was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal. He was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church.
Jasper is survived by two daughters, Barbara Sampson-Robinson, Sharon D. Tramble (Kendall) both of Jacksonville; brother, Thomas Sampson; six grandchildren: Christopher A. Austin, Tonya D. Austin-LaBron, Prentis E. Grayson, Jr., Edward H. Watson, III, Lysander O. Tramble, Javaya D. Tramble; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church, 9717 Frenchman Mountain Road, Sherwood, AR 72120 with Pastor Isaac G. Ross officiating. Wake will be Friday from 5-7 PM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116. Inurnment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
This was my Grandfather and I'm blessed to have been care for by him. He loved his family and walked with respect! Rest in Love!
