of Lonsdale, AR

July 27, 1954 - May 13, 2018

Donna Frances Rushing DePriest, age 63, of Lonsdale, Arkansas, passed away in her home on Mother's Day of May 13, 2018 after bravely battling Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Donna was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 27, 1954 and born again as a teenager. She graduated from Parkview High School. After graduating, she created a loving home for her family.

There is nothing she enjoyed more than conversation with a good friend (or complete stranger). She could have an engaging conversation with anyone. Donna enjoyed gardening, camping, tending to her animals, and spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her children, Michael Slate DePriest, Rachel Ann Isclaw, Jason Wesley Isclaw, and Samual Clay DePriest; her grandchildren, Angelicia Vel Isclaw, Michael Denver DePriest Lane, and Landon Mason Isclaw; as well as her best friend, Gary Wayne Grimmett, who shared the joys and heartbreaks of life and is the honorary father of her children and Poppa of her grandchildren. Donna rejoins her loved ones and is reunited with her grandparents, Alfred Rushing, Sr., Frances Elvira McCain, Darice Sparks, and Frances Irene Jennings; parents, Alfred Rushing, Jr. and Dorrine Rushing; and many other loved ones.

She was a person of faith and lived her life serving others. She will be missed but not forgotten.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00am at Heritage Baptist Temple. Graveside will follow the funeral at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Lunch will be served in the gymnasium of Heritage Baptist Temple immediately following the graveside. Pastor Guy Kelly of Heritage Baptist Temple will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gary Wayne Grimmett and Rachel Ann Isclaw.

It was Donna's request that anyone desiring to purchase flowers would instead make a donation to the Arkansas ALS Association located at 1200 West Walnut, Suite 2406, Rogers, AR 72756.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

God gave us a special bond with our mothers and it is hard to let them go but God will bless you with peace and comfort as you lean on Him in this sad time. Deut 33:27
