Charles Stanley Ivy, 63, known as Stan to his family and friends, passed away in Little Rock on May 20, 2010. He was born on December 2, 1946, in Alexander, Arkansas, to Johnie Marie Barth and Charles Vincent Ivy. He was married to Nancy Fay Matthews on May 30, 1969. He attended Bryant Public Schools and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine. He was the salutatorian and president of the 1964 Bryant High School graduating class. He graduated from Little Rock University, now the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, in 1969, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He was a business owner for 28 years.

Stan was a wonderful, loving husband, father, and son. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Stan was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer. Last year he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife, Nancy, with family vacations to New Orleans, St. Louis, and San Francisco. Stan loved animals, especially his faithful dog Max, and baseball, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed fishing and attending Razorback football games. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ivy; grandfather, John Barth; and grandmother, Eva Barth.

He is survived by his mother, Johnie Holloway of Benton; his wife of 40 years, Nancy Ivy of Little Rock; his daughter, Ashley Beazley and son-in-law Brent of Little Rock; his daughter, Brooke Ivy of Little Rock; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 in Little Rock, with the Reverend Vic Nixon officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

To the Ivy family,

Although it's almost two years later, we just found out today of Mr. Ivy's passing when calling to reach him. He did our doors/windows on our home, my mother's and friends homes. We were calling to have him to do our new home and repairs on our current home. We are so saddened to hear this news and have been sad all afternoon. He was one of the nicest and most pleasant people we knew. We feel a great loss. So sorry for your loss.

Blessings,
The Sproles Family

I was saddened to read of Stan's death. I was a classmate and fellow graduate of the 1964 Bryant High class. Stan was always a kind, considerate and genuinely nice person , as I'm sure he continued to be. We shared the same Birthdate - Dec 2, 1946, as did another classmate, Paula Mask. In a class so small, that was unusual. Nancy,, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters in this time of grief. Special prayers in the coming birth of your first Grandchild.

God Bless You,

I was shocked and sadden to see Stanley's obituary in the paper. I had him as a high school English student, and I have fond memories of him as a wonderrul young man and a student with great potential. I was pleased to see that he lived up to that potential. Losing a husband/father at such a young age is very hard. I am so sorry that he did not get to see his grandchild.

I pray that you will find comfort in your faith and treasure your memories of a good husband/father..

With my love and prayers.

Nancy, Ashley and Brooke,
We were shocked and saddened to hear this kind of news. Stan was a great guy. I always considered him a cousin instead of a cousin in law. It was always a pleasure talking to him at reunions or on your vacations to and from Disney World. He will be missed. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Though William thoroughly enjoyed his time yesterday at the competition, he was the first one to suggest that the school keep one team trophy and that the other be given to you. Phil and I can not express what your involvement with both of our boys has meant to us. Much love to you all. Stephanie

Oh, how we wish we had just the right words to make it all go away,... the pain, the questions, the saddness... Nancy, the one thing I can truly say is that in time, yes in time....whatever you need, feel, or think...Time will be on your side. There is a word that says there is a time for every thing...Know that as your friend and long time co-worker, I prayerfully offer my benevolence in this time of your bereavement.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ivy family for their loss of Stan Ivy. I have been a driver for UPS Freight for 17 years. For 13 of those i delivered in the downtown area which included Ivy Home Improvement. And while doing so it was a tremendious pleasure getting to know Mr, Ivy. Mr Ivy was always upbeat and willing to stop and chat with me when i finished making his delivery. Mr. Ivy will be missed dearly. May God Bless and Comfort all of you during this time with a the kind of Love and Peace and Comfort that surpasses all understanding.
