Eugene Castrejon

of Benton, AR

November 3, 1977 - July 26, 2019

Eugene Castrejon, 41, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2019 in Benton, Arkansas. He was born on November 3, 1977 in Panama City, Panama to Hanna Barb and Eugenio Castrejon.

At 14, Eugene and his brother Julio joined his mom and sister Janeth in the United States. He didn't waste any time becoming successful in all he endeavored. He was a star athlete and a strong student, even graduating high school a year ahead of schedule. After earning a degree in Business Administration, he went right to work for Bank of America's call center in Tampa, Florida. Eugene was quickly recognized as a dynamic and skilled employee and rose in the ranks, moving with Bank of America to Nashville, Houston, and then to Little Rock to marry the love of his life, Virginia. Eugene transferred to Iberiabank in 2013 and continued ''living the dream,'' as he would say, every minute of every day. He loved his job, his co-workers and his clients and made lifelong friends each step along the way. He was a mover and a shaker, a motivator who always strived to work harder, be better and achieve more. His passion led him to be head-strong and willful at times, but this determination and the results it produced inspired others around him to greater things as well. He overcame hurdles, took ''no'' as an opportunity, and did not know the meaning of quit. He made the impossible achievable and the merely difficult something to laugh at. He awoke each morning encouraged by his newly adopted mantra: Spectacular, Capable, Happy.

At work Eugene earned the title of Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, but the title he was most honored by was that of husband and daddy. With his marriage to Virginia, he became ''S-Daddy'' to Carson Grace, and together Eugene and Virginia welcomed sons Carter and Caiden and daughter Claire. Eugene was a doting father who never allowed his family to do without. He became an impressive handyman and self-taught woodworker who could build anything Virginia could design. He was the doctor of the house, the massage therapist, computer technician, mechanic, and all-around Mr. Fix-It. He could do it all, down to manicures and pedicures for the girls. The love he shared with Virginia was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. He couldn't stand to be away from her and the kids, and would leave sweet notes for them in the morning and and make phone calls throughout the day to check in. He showered Virginia and the kids with love and attention from the minute they awoke until the moment they laid their heads down at night.

Eugene loved traveling, good food, music, dancing, Razorback football, the horse races, and spending tine with friends and family. It was important to Eugene to stay in touch with his family and he went to great lengths to do so, visiting Florida and Panama as often as he could.

Eugene is survived by his parents, Hanna Barb Parenteau (Roger) and Eugenio Castrejon Miranda (Noris); wife, Virginia Leeanne; children Carson Grace (17), Carter Eugene (12), Caiden Clark (9), and Claire Annalise (6); brother Julio (Jessica) Castrejon, sisters Janeth Castrejon (Jonathan Ramirez), Carmen Castrejon, and step-sister Lourdes Domingo; maternal grandparents Sofia Lopez and Roberto Barb; mother-and father-in-law William and Sue Donaldson; sister-in-law Jennifer (Hap) Cheff; brother-in-law Jeff (Mary) Kimbrell, and sister-in-law Lara Kahler. Eugene leaves behind numerous and beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends.

His absence will be deeply felt in the days to come by each who knew him. See you later Big Dog.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home (501)-315-0700, 6700 Alcoa Rd. Benton, AR.

A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

My heart breaks for this family. I had Carter, his son in my first grade classroom. Eugene was a wonderful man, a very concerned parent. He will be missed.

It is so revealing to read all of the wonderful, caring things that people have written about Eugene and to his precious family. I cannot add to that. I only knew Eugene as the young boy he was when he first arrived here. He was always smiling, happy, enthused, absorbing what wonders were a part of life. He made you see ordinary things in a new, special way. It was a joy to be around him.

What did the future hold for him? What was ahead for Eugene? We could not know for certain. From what I have been told and have just read, he for sure became a good husband and father, a caring employee and friend. When I see his face in the picture on this site, I see the face of the mature young man that he became—just what we all expected back then.

May God bless his wife, children, parents, brother and sister and all who are aching from the loss of him. “He cares for you.” I Peter 5:7

I was a client of Eugene. From the moment we began speaking I could tell he was professional and cared about those he served. He listened and offered his best advise in the best interest of his clients. From my limited contact with him and those who have commented here, I wish I had known him on a more personal level. I'm truly saddened by his passing.

God give us strength...the pain is too much to endure!!

Eugene was a truly honorable man...I saw him love his family with his words, his actions, his teachings, his discipline, and mostly...in the way Eugene's eyes stayed full of the love he held for Virginia, Carson, Carter, Caiden, and Claire.

I respected him and am so thankful that he loved Virginia in the way she deserved...

In the name of Jesus...I pray a covering over this family with ur everlasting love-
and when just taking a breath is seems impossible, then Lord, breathe for them!!

Lord, allow my love and prayers, to be felt...
Again, God give us strength...
amen.

If your lucky, you get to cross paths with someone, as you live your life that is of the calibure of Eugene Castrejon. I am that lucky person. From our first handshake, I knew that he would be a friend for life. I never saw him with out a smile on his face, he never greeted me with out a handshake, he always had genuine nice things to say. I had the honor of designing room additions for his house so the kids could have more room. He talked at length with me over making his house his home for Virginia and the kids, and a big desire was to have a place his kids could call home at any point in their life. And he made that possible, but not with a room addition, but with Eugene being Eugene. One of the most caring and loving people I’ve ever had the luxury of knowing !!!!!' You’ll be missed but never forgotten. Many prayers to Virginia and the kids, family and friends.

Virginia,
I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t talked to Eugene much since he left Bank Of America/ Merrill Lynch but I have enjoyed our time prospecting together and working hard to grow our businesses. He talked about Panama while I bragged about Morocco but he always spoke highly about you and the kids. Not sure what to say except that I hope he is in a much better place and in no more pain and know that we are here for you and the kids.

When Merrill Lynch became part of BOA one of the first people I meet was a loan officer named Eugene Castrejon. He "ALWAYS" took care of my team and out clients. From our business relationship he became my friend which I feel like acquired with most folks Eugene engaged. Eugene is now with our Lord & Savior and my prayers are for his lovely family!

Eugene Castrejon was a man full of passion for life. He loved to dance, he loved his football, he loved good food, he enjoyed friends and family around him. He was always encouraging people around him to do better. He always was very protective of the people he loved. He was extremely hard working and never liked to see someone below him go without. He had a great laugh and a beautiful smile that all the angels in heaven will rejoice to see. He will be missed by many. He was my one special love of my life and I’m thankful to have spent 8 years with him full of special memories that will never be lost. He was a believer at a young age and in time all other believers will get to see him again. May God rest his soul and may peace be placed upon his wife, children and extended family. “For we fix our eyes on not what is seen, but what is unseen.” “For what is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal.” Eugene ,I will always love you. Rest in eternal peace and may the love of Christ be with you.
