of Mabelvale, AR
February 18, 1952 - July 2, 2019
David Wayne Rachel, 67, of Mabelvale passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2019. He was born on February 18, 1952 in Tampa, Florida to Holly F. and Francis Dye Rachel.
David was an unforgettable man who had a contagious laugh. He was the most giving and selfless man you'd ever meet and would literally give you the shirt off his back if presented with the opportunity. David is remembered as being a barbeque champion and always being the friendly, center of any party. His garden was his pride and joy, which he loved showing to other people, and in his early life, was a master woodworker. He especially loved his collection of crazy t-shirts- specifically his ''ugly Christmas sweater'' prints. He was known for being 100 percent devoted to whatever was of interest to him at any given time, whether that was campers, cars, or drones! His memory will be forever cherished, and his legacy will continue on through his family and friends that loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
David is survived by his wife, Mary Rachel; his son, John Rachel of Benton; a daughter, Shannon Saunders and her husband, Eric of Benton; five granddaughters, and many other family members and friends. A Gathering of Remembrance to celebrate his life will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton.
I miss you very much David, I wanted to be sure if you were in a good place after you passed wich I know you are! I asked you one Sunday morning send me a message but make it real something I can believe and you did!!!!!! Like in the movies, I was walking down my street early in the morning still dark southbound and as I turned north a giant meteorite lit up the whole sky, I knew it was you, I know I'll see you one day. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

David was my sister's husband, my brother-in-law and always made me and my children feel at home when we visited him and Mary. He was always funny and always had a story to tell, and he loved showing off his new toys, like a surround sound for the TV, Play Stations, or WII game systems, his "man cave", and was very proud of his cooking abilities, especially his smoker and grill.
The most important thing about him to me is the fact that he made my sister happy, and he will be sorely missed. I know he is watching over Mary and "Alvin", his precious four-legged friend, and we will see him again. God bless his entire family!
Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with you Mary, Shannon and Johnny. We loved David and have so many good memories of times spent with him. God bless and comfort you today and in the days to come.
Johnny, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
