of Bauxite, AR
May 3, 1950 - May 25, 2019
Randall Maynard Harris, 69, of Bauxite, was welcomed into our Savior's arms on May 25, 2019. He was born on May 3, 1950 in Des Arc, AR to the late Ralph Harris and Ruth Miller. Randy served in the Marine Corp Reserve where he earned his Marksmanship Badge.
Randy is remembered as a fun guy. He enjoyed telling jokes, playing pranks, and acting silly. He liked camping, spending time on the lake, reading and learning about the Civil War. As an avid gun enthusiast and collector, he was a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Benton Gun Club. He designed and built his beautiful home performing almost all the work with his own 2 hands. Randy had a green thumb, loved gardening, and was especially fond of cactus plants. He had many, some over 100 years old and 1 that was 5 foot tall! Randy also loved spending Christmas mornings with his 2 granddaughters, whom he loved and was immensely proud of.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Lybrand; and his very best friend, Woo, his loyal canine companion.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Fink (Kevin) and 2 granddaughters, Zanna Fink and Presley Fink; 2 brothers, Edward Harris (Ann) and Larry Harris (Jane); 2 sisters, Beverly Turner (Will) and Patricia Cole; a brother-in-law, Paul Lybrand; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held June 4 at 11am at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton, AR, officiated by Brother George Yarberry. In lieu of flowers, please honor Randy's memory with a donation to Feed Arkansas Kids at 11500 W 36th St, Little Rock, AR 72211 or online at www.feedarkansaskids.com/contribute.
"I only know two songs...one of them is, Yanky Doodle Dandy...one of them, isn't."
The first of many jokes that Mr. Randy told me shortly after coming to our facility. With these type of jokes being my favorite, it stuck in my mind and I shared it with my friends. We are all blessed to have been able to spend time with him.
