Margaret O. McCarty, 95, of Benton passed away Monday, January 14, 2019. She was born on January 5, 1924 in Bemidji, MN to the late Olaf and Bertha Opsahl. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill McCarty; sister, Borghild Nummela; brothers, Carl Opsahl, Art Opsahl, Arvid Opsahl; daughter, Roberta Armbrust; and grandson, Casey Armbrust.
Survivors include her daughters, Gerri (George) Bowlin of Columbia, KY and Gloria Armbrust of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Dale Bowlin, Greg Bowlin, Gayle (Jason) Morris, Barbara Holder, and Chris Armbrust; great-grandchildren, Shannon (Josh) Spencer, Destany Holder, Alex Huffman, Abi Huffman, Siara Morris, Austin Morris, Abby Morris, Cameron Armbrust, Chloe Armbrust, Sammy Armbrust, and Noah Armbrust; and great-great-grandchildren, Everett Wright, Owen Spencer, Brendan Holder, Cali Spencer and Elliott Casey.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Dale Bowlin, Greg Bowlin, Don Dykes, Alex Huffman, Jason Morris, and Tom Nummela; and honorary pallbearer, Chris Armbrust.
A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral service at the Funeral Home.

Ms. Margaret was my mentor and friend. We took 4 Disciple Bible Studies together at First United Methodist Church in Benton. She was wise, kind and had a sassy sense of humor. I wrote in the back of our workbooks a list called “Margaret’s Pearlsâ€. To her daughters and family, her legacy lives on in you. Prayers for those she loved.
