Tony C, Hudson

of Flippin, AR

June 4, 1958 - January 8, 2020

Tony Clay Hudson, age 61, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020.

Tony was born June 4, 1958 in Lees Summit, Missouri to the late Ira Albert and Gladys Margaret Burks Hudson. The family soon moved back to Marion County, Arkansas where he attended Flippin Public Schools and graduated in 1976. When he was a teenager, he started guiding on the river, and soon began making money. Tony had a real passion for the outdoors, and if he had any free time, he was sure to be hunting or fishing. In high school, he played basketball and baseball for Flippin Schools and, as an adult he volunteered his time as a pee wee basketball coach for several years. He has always been a loyal Bobcat fan. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the old black and white westerns. Tony's greatest pride, however, was his family. He loved spending time with the people he cared about, whether that was watching them play sports or lending them a hand.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his loved one, Christy Havens, of the home; two sons Heath (Carlie) Hudson of Flippin, Arkansas and Kazzlee (Molly) Hudson of Beebe, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Coyla Hudson and Rose Hudson of Flippin, Arkansas; two nephews Kelvin Hudson and Brandon Hudson; and four nieces Gina Riggs, Dana Warren, Chasadee Weaver, and Crystal Simmons; and eight grandchildren Jordan, Jaycee, Easton, Krew, Kyleigh, Connor, Kamryn, and Vincent;

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Claude and Burlie Burks; paternal grandparents James and Terissa Hudson; his brothers Karldon Gene Hudson and Karl Lee Hudson; and sister Nina Gail Bohannon.

Visitation will be 2:00 '''' 3:00 pm Sunday January 12, 2020 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Sunday January 12, 2020 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Jefferson and Greg Hopper officiating.

Memorials may be made to Flippin Bobcat Booster Club

Tony passing is sad news. My condolences to his family and close friends.

Tony was a childhood friend and classmate. My grandparent, Gus and Layla McCracken, lived just across the highway from Tony's childhood home. We learned sports, hauled hay, rode bicycles, picked up pop bottles , fished (and many other things). He and David Hickey were best friends. Jimmy (and Hal) Mitchner, Dick Johnston and I were among those close to Tony in those early years.

Tony was a great competitor. He was a key member of a Jr. high Bobcat team that went 28-2 while winning 3 of 4 tournaments(1973?). His rebounding, scoring and ball handling were key to the teams success. He tended to get into foul trouble because he loved to block shots!

The baseball teams were mediocre, but Tony could hit em over the fence better than any of us.

My thought and prayers are with the family. I will be with you in keeping a memory of Tony in my heart.

Oh, it hurts my heart to read of Tony's passing.

Tony was a good friend of my dad, David Hickey, and in the years after my dad's stroke, Tony's devotion in friendship was astounding. On the night before my dad died, Tony came to the hospice house and sat at my dad's bedside, silent, just holding his hand, for hours. The jarring contrast of such an emotional gesture of friendship from such a masculine form is something I have not, and will never forget. That cemented in my mind the standard by which all friendship could be measured.

We really never know all the little ways one person's life impacts another's, and I'm sure he never knew the positive impact that had on mine, but his family can know now.

My thoughts are with you all.

I was so saddened hearing Tony passed away. He was a native and loved Flippin and the people in it. He was always willing to help in any situation and loved doing so. I loved just taking a moment to visit with him. He always made me feel good.
Heath and Kazzlee I'm very sorry you lost your dad too soon. I'll be praying for you all.
