Alvin Dale Slavings was born June 23, 1952 to James and Rose Slavings in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Alvin was employed with the City of Flippin for 25 years, retiring August 1, 2018. In his leisure he enjoyed sitting around visiting family and friends. He also loved to travel and see new places. Above all, he thoroughly enjoyed attending church services each week.
Alvin departed this life August 11, 2019. His father and mother, James and Rose Slavings, son-in-law Clemon Terrell, brother in law Clifton Evans, and sisters-in-law Adeila Wilson and Karen Slavings preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine Slavings; two children: Rosalind Terrell and James ''Ron'' Slavings; four grandchildren: Lachan, Taytum, Clem II, and Kendyl Terrell; six siblings: Whistle (Margurite) Slavings, Slim (Diane) Slavings, Carl (Debbie) Slavings, Steve Slavings, Linda Evans, and Robert (Gina) Slavings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be held by the family 11:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Assembly of God Church in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Noel Morehead officiating.

Always enjoyed talking to Alvin. He was born and raised up by where I was so we always talked about things and changes happening. He always had a smile on his face.
Alvin you were like a dad to us and you will be greatly missed.

What a great man! He was like another father to me. He was always there to lend a hand, an ear, offer words of encouragement, and a good laugh. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be missed by all as well. Alvin, you have touched all our hearts and we will carry your spirit with us always.
