Lucy Dell Pyle

of Harrison, AR

July 3, 1931 - February 3, 2020

On February 3, 2020, Lucy Dell (Adams) Pyle left this world and was reunited with those she had longed to see for many years. Lucy Dell was born July 3, 1931, in Bruno, Arkansas, to Clarence R. Adams and Lou (McEntire) Adams, having been named after both of her grandmothers.

Lucy Dell married O.B. Pyle, Jr., on December 24, 1948. She attended school at Anderson Flat and Everton and was in the graduating class of 1949 at Bruno School. She was a member of the Church of Christ. For 72 years, Lucy resided in her home on the family farm in Bruno where she was a homemaker, cowhand, babysitter, and vital member of the community. She and Junior operated a dairy for 38 years where many lively conversations could be heard, as well as a beef cattle operation. They were honored as the 2007 Marion County Farm Family of the Year.

Lucy Dell took pleasure in helping others that were in need. Her outspokenness never left you wondering where she stood on an issue. She enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, and reading western romance books, but most of all spending time with her family. Watching and reading books to all of her grandchildren gave her the most joy.

Lucy Dell was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Jimmy Ray Adams; a sister, Joyce Adams; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Pyle. She is survived by her son, Billy Pyle of Bruno, Arkansas; her daughter, Linda (David) Carpenter of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Jon (Laura) Pyle of Bruno, Arkansas, Lesley (Keith) Edmonds of Bruno, Arkansas, Sara Pyle of Conway, Arkansas, William (Julie) Carpenter of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; five great-grandchildren, Evyn (Veronica) Edmonds, Allie Edmonds, Erica and Bridget Pyle, and Lucas Carpenter; one great-great-grandson, Bryson Edmonds; and a host of dear friends.

Visitation was Friday, February 7, 2020, from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison, Arkansas.

Graveside service was Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Bruno Cemetery, with Luell McCutchen officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Bruno Cemetery Fund 6604 Highway 125 South Yellville, AR 72687 or the Bruno Fire Protection District 8804 Highway 235 South Bruno, AR 72682.
