Shirley Horn, age 81, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She was born April 12, 1938, at Pyatt, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Elsie (Markle) Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gregory Brian Horn; three brothers, Coy Wagoner, Loy Wagoner, and Carl Wagoner; and two sisters, Margie Stanley and Dean Lister.
Shirley was a member of Northside Church of Christ. She graduated from Western Grove High School in 1957 and was a graduate of Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique in St. Louis, Missouri. Shirley was a lab technician at Boone County Hospital, Dr. Van Smith and Family Doctors Clinic. Later, she retired from Eagle Heights Elementary School. She married Foy Horn on September 30, 1961.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Foy Horn; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tonia Horn, of Sherwood, Arkansas; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lyle Quiring, of Branson, Missouri; her grandchildren, Katheryn and Emily Horn and Landon and Logan Quiring. She is also survived by two sisters, Nina Williams and Marie Harp, both of Harrison; her brother, Harry Wagoner, of Harrison; and a host of other family.
Funeral service was 2:00PM, Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Jason Hart officiating. Visitation was 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Mangrum, Raymond Stills, Bill Cole, Trevor Williams, Jerry Honey, and Harry Wagoner.
Honorary pallbearers were Shirley's grandchildren.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very sad time.
Shirley will be missed. I always enjoyed talking to her.
