Homer Busby, age 81, of Bergman, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Mount Vista Rehab and Health Center in Harrison, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1937, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Daniel Mac Homer Busby and Cora Marie (Woodard) Busby. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Joe Busby; his first wife, Karen (Henderson) Busby; his wife, Doris Jean (Saylors) Busby; his brothers, Norman Busby and Jim Busby; and his sister, Maxine Speciale.

Homer was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1960 and served for two years. He loved to play music on his guitars and sing regularly with family and friends. He was always mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on anything with a motor. He had a never-ending sense of humor and loved to swap jokes with his family and friends.

Homer is survived by his daughter, Peggy Busby, of Fayetteville; three step-children, Suzy (Larry) Stone of Bergman, Katie (Leo) Saylors of Lead Hill, and Monro (Laura) Saylors of Harrison; his grandchildren, Ria Busby, Will Ashworth, April Smith, Jason Smith, Donro Saylors, Joseph Saylors, Sarah Cooper, and Alex Saylors; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Homer is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Tinker of Wentzville, Missouri and Geneva Carroll of St. Louis, Missouri; his brothers, Raymond Busby of Marble Hill, Missouri and Farrel Wayne Busby of Davenport, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.


Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Pastor Roger Smith officiating.

Pallbearers were Will Ashworth, Gerald Clemence, Harold Grrison, Ted Warren and Roy Harrington.

Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Busby, Farrel Wayne busby, Monro Saylors, Larry Stone and Lisa Duckett.

Interment was in Milum Cemetery, Lead Hill, Arkansas.
