Peggy Joyce Barton, age 79, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, at her home. She was one of two children of Hugh and Nina Leota (Troutman) Garner, born March 28, 1939. Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Dale Langley; and her second husband, Doyle W. Barton.

Peggy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison since 1974. She was a graduate of Harrison High School. Peggy and Edward raised their children until his death. She remarried Doyle Wayne Barton in 1972 and they moved to Hill Top, Arkansas. She had worked at various jobs including the "Drive-In", the National Park Service, and retired from the Social Security Office. She also taught piano and the flute.

Peggy was a very kind and compassionate person. She had assisted on numerous committees at her church including overseeing interments at the Columbarium and wrote the brochure for it as well. She volunteered at the Senior Center where she was part of the Silver Sneakers exercise class and she managed, set up, and donated many books at the library. Peggy was an expert on genealogy research for her family and friends. She had researched several family members back to the 1700s in the United States. She was also a member of the Ozark Arts Council and donated to plays and musicals.

Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert A. Langley, William Lad and Maurita Langley, Jonathan Langley and Deborah A. Langley and her husband Jemes Davis; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Brenda Garner, and their children, Ronald, Jr., Barbara, Patricia and Sarah and his nine grandchildren; her step-son, Brad and Mary Barton ; and her step-daughter, April Falkner.
