of Harrison, AR

February 27, 1933 - February 14, 2019

Bobby Albert Parker, or ''Pete'' as he was known by family and friends, age 85, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born February 27, 1933, in Gaither, Arkansas, the son of Sherman and Bonnie (Trotter) Parker, who preceded him in death.

Bobby was a member of Northside Church of Christ. He grew up in the Gaither community of Boone County and excelled in baseball, playing on local semi-professional teams in his youth. He was an Army National Guard veteran. Bobby married Charlotte Jenkins on January 6, 1961. He enjoyed quail hunting and bowling as a young adult, but found his true hobby in golf, enjoying the many friends he made on the Harrison Country Club golf course and shooting under his age several times in the last few years of his life.

Bobby was a cattle and dairy farmer and a skilled gardener. He also worked for the Soil Conservation Agency and the U. S. Postal Service. He was an avid Razorback basketball fan traveling to Fayetteville for home games for many years and an avid Goblin supporter. He closely followed his grandchildren's activities and sports. Throughout his life, he quietly and steadily gave encouragement and support to those at his work, church, and community. He had a quiet personality but a strong commitment to work and family.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Charlotte Parker, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Ken Collins of Harrison and Meleah and Travis McNeal of Searcy, Arkansas; his grandchildren and their spouses, Layne and Logan McLain of Bentonville, Arkansas, Lucas and Nikki Collins of Harrison, Parker McNeal of Searcy, Arkansas, and Kate McNeal of Searcy, Arkansas; a great-grandchild, Campbell McLain; his special double cousin and his wife, Ross and Johnette Parker, Jr.; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Visitation was 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Northside Church of Christ.

Funeral service was 10:00 AM, Monday, February 18, 2019, at Northside Church of Christ.

Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Clyde Johnson, Rex Brazell, Carl Curtis, Jerry Mitchell, Brent Parker, Adam Kerr and Bill Huber.

Memorials may be made to Tahkodah Christian Summer Camp, Box 10844, Searcy, AR 72149, or a memorial of your choice.
