August 30, 1934 - February 8, 2019

Ted B. Journagan, age 84 of Lead Hill passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. Ted was born August 30, 1934 in Lead Hill to Pauline (Journagan) Whitley. He was raised by his Granny Elle Journagan and Uncle John Journagan. He was preceded in death by his mother, granny, uncle, his wife of 61 years Sammy (Hunter) Journagan, daughter Kathy Lynn Eoff, two sisters Mary Ann Keys and
Shirley Vanzant Ballard, infant brother Terry and special brother- in- law Larry Hunter.

Ted and Sammy were married on May 15, 1955 and together they raised 11 children. Ted retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department after 27 years of service as Road Supervisor of District 9. Throughout his life, he was a heavy equipment operator, welder, farmer and fishing guide. In the seventh grade, he was a milk truck driver and while attending high school, he drove the school bus.

Ted graduated from Lead Hill School in 1954. He proudly served ten years on the Lead Hill School Board and volunteered countless hours to making improvements to the campus. He was also a member of the Lead Hill Saddle Club for many years and enjoyed showing his Fox Trotter horses.

Ted is survived by his four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Shelley Journagan of Harrison, Chris and Libby Journagan of Harrison, Charles Journagan of Bentonville and John and Stacie Journagan of Fayetteville; six daughters and sons-in-law, LeeAnn and Jerry Bailey of Lead Hill, Francie and Jeff Johnson of Lead Hill, Jill and Colby Williams of Lead Hill, Beth Journagan Straub of Harrison, Sara Poole of Harrison and JoElla and Heath Spry of Harrison. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee and Rita Hunter of Lead Hill, Bob and Linda Hunter of Wildwood, Missouri and Mary Jane Hunter of Lead Hill.

He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and their spouses, Tait and Jenny Bailey, Russell and Spring Bailey, Wade and Cissy Wilmoth, Kara and Andy Richardson, Kallie and Preston Phillips, Kaitlyn Eoff, Hunter Journagan, Trace Journagan, Jayce Straub, Jay and Jordyn Johnson, Brock and Holley Johnson, Shawn Poole, Kelly Owen, Jordan Poole, Brooke Poole, Danielle and Jason Dengler, Payton Journagan, Camyrn Journagan, Mayson Journagan, Mattie Journagan, Bella Journagan, Layne and Chad Stetler, Reece Journagan, Carson Journagan, Jayce Williams, Will Spry and EllaKaye Spry; 14 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Khloe, Tesli, Miller, Murphy, Addie, Ellie, Kathryn, Lucie, Keira, Maddie, Emma, Creed, Grayson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation was 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Crossroads Community Church in Harrison, Arkansas.

Funeral service was 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 a the First Baptist Church, Lead Hill, Arkansas. With Bro. Glenn Crenshaw, Tommy Jackson and Bro. Matthew Kerley officiating.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Special thanks to Dr. Tom Leslie and Leslie Clinic staff, Dr. Blake and Amanda Chitsey, Dr. Ali Abdelaal, Donna Bolin, Connie Middleton, Sheila Henry, Debbie Harp, and Hillcrest Rehabilitation.

Our Daddy was a Jack of all trades. He was self taught and worked hard for everything he had. He took care of his family that he loved very much.
