My wife & I did not know John , but we regret the sorrow you feel. We’ve grieved the loss of sons who were just a little younger than him , and I’m sure it doesn’t feel like it now, but we can tell you that as time passes you will be able to remember more of the good times and dwell less on your loss. As you know by now each person grieves in a different way and at different times, so we encourage each of you to continue allowing for those differences in your families.
We are of the Christian faith and we dealt with our pain based on our belief that God is still sovereign even when we don’t understand tragedy. May you find comfort as you walk through this “valley of the shadow of death” and may friends share their good memories John with you.

Dear God, Would you give John this message: Hi Honey, My Precious Grandson, My broken heart tells me that I can't hold you again. My head cries out that you're not being with is not true. My spirit knows peace that passes human understanding, because you and I walked with Jesus together nearly every summer of your life. And now you are in the presence of the awesome blessings of heaven and loved ones like Granddaddy and your Father God and your Compassionate Savior Jesus. I am grateful that God told us there are unspeakable joy and innumerable celebrations in heaven.See you there and we will all party super abundantly better than any party on earth. Thank you, God for sharing this message with John, my "darling."
