Roy Scheider, 85, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020. He was born January 7, 1935 to the late Jewell and Henry Scheider.
Mr. Scheider is a veteran of the United States Air Force, attended First Baptist Church in Helena, Arkansas and was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club of Helena as well. He was drafted to play pro-baseball, but he did not play in order to complete his education.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Nell Johnson; son, Gary Roy Scheider (Vicki) of Clinton, Mississippi; daughter, Rhonda Scheider St. Columbia (Joe) of Helena, Arkanas; four grandchildren, Lauren Smith (Zach), Adam Scheider (Elizabeth), Joseph St. Columbia, Amy Craft (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Eli Scheider, Lathan Craft, Sam Smith and Avery Scheider; two sisters, Janet "Cookie" Shaw (Charles) of Goodman, Mississippi and Kathryn Clark (Dwight) of Memphis, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Earlene Scheider; two brothers, Louis Scheider and George Henry Scheider.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Roy Scheider.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mr Roy. He was such a kind man. I will be praying for the family. I would go in his room and sometimes he would have good long conversations with me. I am thankful God let me take care of him. God bless you his family.
