of Memphis, TN
June 5, 1935 - March 14, 2020
Mrs. Eloise Dollar Traylor (84) of Memphis TN passed away on Saturday, March 14, at her home at Kirby Pines Retirement Community. A long-time resident of Helena AR and later of Marion AR before moving to Memphis, Mrs. Traylor was the owner of Traylor Enterprises, a real estate business in Helena, and managed it until her death.
She was born in Augusta GA and grew up in Fitzgerald GA, marrying the love of her life, Dr. Marvin M. Traylor, a well-known chiropractor in Helena and West Memphis. She moved to Arkansas as a young bride and had two sons, Dr. Maurice Traylor and Mr. Jeff Traylor.
Family and faith were the foundation of her life. She grew up in the Church of the Nazarene and was a lifelong follower of Christ, teaching Sunday School to children, playing the piano for church services, and hosting many church activities in her home.
Although her husband and two sons preceded her in death, along with her parents and siblings, she enjoyed a large and active family that included two daughter-in-laws, Dr. Deborah Traylor Daniel (Jerry) of Memphis and Mrs. Gayle Akers (Chris) of Cabot AR, as well as five grandchildren, Amy Traylor Oswalt (Chris) of Forrest City AR, Chris Traylor (deceased), Cole Traylor (Shela) of Big Spring TX, Jon Reese Traylor (Larissa) of Little Rock AR, and Laura Beth Traylor Ward (Justin) of Fayetteville AR. Mrs. Traylor is also survived by six great-grandchildren, as well as sister- and brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mrs. Traylor's life will begin with visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, and will continue with a service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
Service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
