James W. "Wayne" Casteel, at the age of 72, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 27th, 2019 in his home in Lexa, Arkansas. Mr. Casteel was born Thursday, November 27th, 1947 in Lagrange, Arkansas to the late Lewis and Betty Casteel.

He proudly served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He also worked for several local plants in book keeping, supply purchasing, and as an accountant. He enjoyed wood work, gardening and working in his yard, as well as hunting and fishing. He loved his family and was proud of his son and service to his country.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Cathy Casteel of Lexa, Arkansas; son, Jimmy Casteel of Marion, Arkansas; two sisters, Betty Lois Griffin (Johnny) of West Helena, Arkansas and Mildred Ann Sorrells (Jackie) of Marianna, Arkansas; one brother, Austin Casteel (Joyce) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; as well as a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Betty Casteel; and two brothers, Vernon Ray and Larry Edwin Casteel.

A graveside service for James W. "Wayne" Casteel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas on 3600 Highway 163. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 at Roller-Citizens Chapel. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery call (870) 588-4608 for more information. Brother Adam Rowland will officiate.

Pallbearers are Alfred Davis, David Dilks, Darrell Owens, Jimmy Yates, and Dale Edgin.
