Martha Jane Stanley

of Lexa, AR

April 17, 1952 - July 18, 2019

Martha's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 27 at 10 AM at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home West Helena, Martha Jane Stanley 67 of Lexa passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Martha was born Thursday, April 17, 1952 in Marvell, Arkansas to Cecil and Betty (Mary) Wolfe.

She was both a loving mother and homemaker sharing 47 years of marriage with her best friend and husband James A. Stanley. Martha was a spontaneous, very crafty, straight-forward, honest woman who cherished her family. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, quilting, camping, fishing, and was passionate about wildflowers and owls.

Through the years she had 10-15 foster kids at any given time. It appeared she collected kids in need, like stray puppies. Martha's home was a safe haven to any child in need. She was considered a mother to everyone. Martha left a special place in the hearts of all those she touched.

She was preceded in death by her Papa Cecil Wolfe, her sister Pauline Wolfe, her daughter Angela Renee Burns, and two grandchildren Jeremy Lynn Applegate and Lori Ann Burns.

Martha leaves behind her husband James A. Stanley of Lexa, Arkansas; her mother Betty Caldwell (Bill) of Choudrant, Louisiana; one son James Stanley (Ann) of Casco, Arkansas; three daughters Betty Jean Hadder (Keith) of Downsville, Louisiana, Atonya Stanley Denton of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, Misty Dawn Bussell (Brandon) of Homer, Louisiana; three brothers Ronnie Lee Wolfe Sr (Bonnie) of Downsville, Louisiana, Buddy Leon Wolfe (Sheila) of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Gerald Wayne Wolfe (Mysti) of Murphysboro, Tennessee; one sister Debbie Evans (Gerald) Choudrant, Louisiana; eight grandchildren Skyler Stanley of DeWitt, Arkansas, Billy Hadder (Lindsay) of Downsville, Louisiana, Jesse Hadder (Jessica) of West Monroe, Louisiana, Ray Hadder (Rosie) of 29 Palms, California, Samantha Zimmerman (Jared) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Christopher CJ Denton (Alexis) of Columbus, Texas, Blake Stanley of Homer, Louisiana, Trinity Stanley of Shreveport, Louisiana; and many great grandchildren.
