Bobby Johnston, age 88, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Elaine.
Mr. Johnston was born July 21, 1930 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late Mattie Kent and William Johnston.
He was a member of Elaine Baptist Church and was a faithfully retired fire Captain of 20+ years in Elaine, Arkansas. Mr. Johnston is also a Navy Veteran and enjoyed carpenter work and gardening.
He is survived by his son, Floyd Johnston (Lisa) of Mountain View, Arkansas; daughter, Cathy Tinsley of Elaine, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Michelle Snowden, Denny Johnston, Ricky Tinsley (Betty), Penny Greenwood (William), Callie Snowden (Dennis), Jennifer Whittington (Brad), Jacob Johnston (Carol); 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two siblings, Curtis Johnston (Kim) of Red Banks, Mississippi and Robie Permenter of Sherwood, Arkansas; sister-n-law, Faye Johnston of Elaine, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Johnston; grandson, Michael Tinsley; son, Larry Johnston; and seven brothers.
A graveside service for Mr. Bobby Johnston will be held at 1:00 P.M, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday at Elaine Baptist Church. Brother Luke Watson will officiate.
Pallbearers are Chris Tillman, Rickey Davidson, Joe Bragdon, Tony Silva, Joe Johnston, and J.R. Davidson.
Honorary pallbearers are James Guest Sr. and Billy Harris.

So sorry to learn that Bob has passed away. He will definitely be missed in Elaine. He was always involved with everything. I grew up with Bob and Betty in Elaine. They were good friends and Bob was a distant cousin.
