Leon Hartsfield, 83, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 in Helena, Arkansas. Mr. Hartsfield was born September 16, 1935 to the late Ruby Carroll and Vernon Hartsfield.

He was one to never complain through troublesome times and was a member of the Fourth Street Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing, singing and playing the bass guitar. Leon dreamed of being a singing preacher man due to his faith and love for the Lord.

He is survived by two sons, Leon McLoyd Hartsfield Jr. of West Helena, Paul Lindale Hartsfield (Tammy) of Louisiana; two daughters, Tina Shattuck and Patricia Hopper (Terry) of Lexa, Arkansas; three brothers, Douglas Hartsfield, Donald-Ray Hartsfield and Carroll Hartsfield; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Rose Garison; three brothers, William Hartsfield, Chris Hartsfield and Pat Hartsfield; one daughter, Cindy Diane Whaley.

Chapel service will be at 2 p.m., April 12, 2019 with visitation at 1 p.m at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Central Cemetery, Lexa. Brother Lance Madden will officiate.

Pallbearers are Jack Whitted, Chase McGaugh, Seth Whaley, Stevie Whaley, Greg Whaley, and Terry Hopper.

Words to use at this time, never seem to come easy. Leon, ,Paul,Tina, and Hopper, just know that I wish I could be there for uncles service. .
Uncle Leon was TRULY a one of a kind great man; he will be missed tremendously
