Alton Erwin Dunlap, age 70, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his home. Mr. Dunlap was born September 2, 1948 in Helena to the late Alvin and Dorothy Dunlap. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Helena-West Helena School District.

Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Lynn "Marty" Dunlap, one son, Lynn Wayne Dunlap, Sr. (Nikki) of Rogers; two daughters, Terri Ann Taylor (Johnny) of Austin and Kerri Ann Dunlap (Jerry Webb) of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Kyser Taylor, Ian Taylor, Benton Rogers, Molly Rogers, Lynn Wayne Dunlap, Jr., Salem Dunlap and Channing Smith; one great-grandchild, Leah Dunlap; four sisters, Elsie Bartlett (Stanley) of Marvell, Ann Puckett (Bill Carnathan) of Poplar Grove, Gayle Gatlin (Tommy Ray) of Helena and Penny Hollingshead (Doug) of Atkins; two brothers, Wayne Preston Dunlap, Sr. (Susie) of West Helena and Elbert Weaver, Jr. (Karyn) of Marion); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfred Eugene Dunlap; and nephew, Wayne Preston Dunlap, Jr.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

We are so saddened to hear of Alton's passing. We were neighbors for many years and can vouch that he always had the best kept yard in the neighborhood. He was always helpful and kind and we will always have fond memories of him. Praying that God will bless and comfort you all.
