Jimmie Jane Elzy, 91 of Eureka Springs, Arkansas formerly of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at her home. She was born on October 18, 1928 in Eudora, Arkansas to her parents, Frank and Alta (Linder) Thurber.
Jimmie worked for many years as an administrative secretary, most recently for Tyson Foods and Roller Funeral Home in Paris. She was a very active volunteer, while living in Paris she was a member of the Logan County Extension Homemakers and was very involved in the American Cancer Society. After she moved to Eureka Springs she volunteered at The Purple House and was a member of the Beaver Lake Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alta (Linder) Thurber; her husband, Kenneth Elzy; one sister, Billie Stilley and one brother Frank Thurber.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joy Serrano and husband Todd Hoopes of Eureka Springs and Jenny McMaster and husband Jim of Alma; one son, Roger Kent Elzy and wife Patty of Reno, Nevada; five grandchildren, Afton Lyons, Jessica Serrano, Candice Watson, Whitney Gregory, Logan Hoopes and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
