Milton ''Don'' Fairbanks, 66, of Magazine, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, in Fort Smith.
He was born on February 25, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, to his parents, Bethel Maurice and Wynema Mae (Graham) Fairbanks. He was the Director of the Office of Emergency Management for Logan County for sixteen years. Don served on the Central Logan County Water Board, was the past president of the Driggs Volunteer Fire Department Board and a Logan County first responder. He loved collecting fire trucks, eagles, corvettes, razorback items and coins. Don loved his family, especially the smaller children; spending time with them was always a high light to his day.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bethel Maurice and Wynema Mae (Graham) Fairbanks; one brother, Danny Fairbanks; one sister, Debra Lynn Fairbanks and his son-in-law, David Reese.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen (Downs) Fairbanks; two daughters, Kristi Bates and husband, Bart of Paris and Lacy Reese of Paris; one sister, Anita Valentine and husband, Robert of Paris; a sister-in-law, Betty Fairbanks of Magazine; two grandchildren, Sierra Bates and Cedric Reese; two great grandchildren, Raelynn and Jaxon Stewart; numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m.,Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2020, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial in Paint Rock Cemetery outside of Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Gruning, Eric Newcomb, Keith Downs, Shane Haney, Tim Gehring and Lucas Hice.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Driggs Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Board members.
Don was a great man known him for 48 years he will be missed his family is in our prayers & thoughts. Love to all Debbie & Frank Terry
Sorry for your loss. I remember that Wendell Fairbanks was his brother also. He has been dead like 40 years.

Saddened to her of Don's passing he was a kind n friendly man with a great family. He is not suffering anymore he is in Heaven healed n Happy. But our hearts are grieving n he will be missed may God comfort you at this sad time.
