Herb Walker, 65, a resident of Booneville, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Mercy Hospital in Booneville.
He was born March 2, 1954, in Little Rock to the late Harvey Delbert and Vidah Walker. Herb spent his working years as a mechanic. For 18 years he worked as an automotive mechanic in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and for 14 years as a boat mechanic in Gore, Oklahoma. In his spare time Herb enjoyed riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Walker and a sister, Francis Marie Caro.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Thompson of Booneville; three sons, Richard Walker of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, James Walker of Washington and Tommy Walker of Poteau, Oklahoma; three daughters, Sherry Hickelheim of Florida, Teresa Blackwell of Illinois and Janice Sherwood of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, John Walker of Altus, James Lee Humphrey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Delbert Eugene Humphrey of Checotah, Oklahoma; four sisters, Ethel Ann Powell of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Myrtle Lynn Walker of Idabel, Oklahoma, Darlene Marchell Walker of Idabel, Oklahoma and Brenda Faye Jannina of Clarksville.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2020, at the Wares Chapel Cemetery near Scranton with the Rev. Shawna Clayton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
