Edward Eberhart Koch, 97, a resident of Prairie View, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020, at the Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 6, 1922, in Subiaco to the late George and Mary (Tencleve) Koch. Edward served in the United States Navy. After his military service he spent his working years at Valmac (now Tyson Foods), Cloyes Gear, rock quarries and as a dairy and beef cattle farmer. He was a member of the St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View. In his spare time, Edward loved working in his vegetable garden which he shared with family and the community.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mariam Ruth (Selph) Koch; a son, Phillip Koch; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include five daughters, Joan Courtney of Colcord, Oklahoma, Chris Fritsche of Midway, Sue Spicer of Subiaco, Cindy Koch of Clarksville and Sally Davis of Midway; one daughter in law, Gloria Koch of Morrison Bluff; five sons, Jim Koch of Prairie View, Gregory Koch of Prairie View, Jeffery Koch of Prairie View, David Koch of Prairie View and Scott Koch of Russellville; thirty one grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Julia Rogers of Prairie View and two brothers, Dennis Koch of Central City and Ray Koch of Fort Smith.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris with a Rosary service to follow.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 7, 2020, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in St. Meinrad Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

So sorry to hear your loss. My dad Curtis thought Ed one of the finest people he ever worked with. They were employed by Johnny Swartz. I used to like to come over and visit when dad went because the girls were so pretty. I know it always hurts when we lose someone we lie but Heaven is a better place.
