Monroe Lensy Grist, 86, a resident of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home.
He was born April 16, 1933, in Scranton to the late William Lensy and Dorothy Eulema (Bernard) Grist. Monroe served in the United States Air Force and the spent his working years as a automotive mechanic. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on lawn equipment.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ellen Grist and a brother, Otis Dean ''Peck'' Grist.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Grist and wife, Pam of Fort Smith, Larry Grist and wife, Karen of Van Buren and Richie Grist and wife, Michelle of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Brent, Chris, Phillip, Corey, Taylor, Jake and Cole Grist and Kenleigh Godwin; three great grandchildren, Sophia Keltmer Grist, Connor Grist and Ryan Grist and three sisters, Eula Faye Wootton of Paris, Kay Wilson of Subiaco and JoAnn Sory of Subiaco.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with Rev. Marty Sloan officiating.
