Johnny Paul Wagner

of Sherwood, AR

August 5, 1963 - August 11, 2019

Johnny (John) Paul Wagner, 56, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed from this world far too soon on Sunday, August 11, 2019 and gained his heavenly wings. John was born to his proud parents, Johnny Lee and Ruby Paulette Wagner on August 5, 1963 in Jacksonville, AR.

John was known across the state of Arkansas as the "Mix Master", due to his uncanny ability to match color. He had spent his whole working life mixing paint, whether it was for Southwest Car Color, or most recently, Dassault Falcon Jet. If you were lucky, he may have used his remarkable talent of painting and painted something for you on the side. He was very prideful of his work, and wouldn't let anything out of his shop without looking as close to perfect as possible. Often times when we were out and about, he would see a vehicle he had painted and made sure to point it out to us with pride. As his brother Rodney said, the good Lord needed a perfect paint job in heaven so he called the very best home.

The Wagner's back porch is where he told some of his best stories. If you have ever had the privilege to sit in one of those lawn chairs, you have one or more of John's stories in mind that makes you laugh every time. His sarcastic sense of humor had the ability to make the most mundane stories hilarious.

Those who knew him remember his contagious smile, his willingness to help others, and his abundant knowledge of life. He loved his family dearly and would have done anything for them. His friends are some of the best people and he knew that. He didn't keep score of who did what for whom, because as he often said, it shouldn't matter among true friends. He was a true one-of-a kind and will be missed dearly by anyone who ever knew him.

John is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee Wagner, his paternal grandparents Odie & Myrtle Wagner and his maternal grandparents John D & Ollie Mae Stivers.

John will be forever remembered by the love of his life for over 26 years, Cindy Renee (King) Wagner; daughter, Amber Wagner Boone (Dylan), Sherwood, AR; son, Jacob Wagner of the home; grandson, Garrett Boone and his fur-baby, Sadie; his loving mother, Ruby Wagner, brother Rodney (Christy) and sister, Kim Wilson, all of Cabot, Arkansas. John will also be remembered by his 11 nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew, plus a host of extended family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd, NLR, Friday, August 16, 6-8pm. Celebration of Life held at North Hills Baptist Church, 9618 Hwy 107, Sherwood, Saturday, August 17, 10:00am. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Jacksonville.

Unbelievable. A day late dollar short. He would tell me that consistently when working with him on Saturdays. Amazing dad, and co-worker. Will never forget you. Much respect, to you and your family. RIP.

Very sorry to hear about Johnny. I've known him since early eighties working together in automotive paint business as well as drag racing. Johnny was a driven person never turning down a challenge. He had the most positive attitude and anybody that knew him was better for knowing him. He will be missed.

I’ve known Johnny Wagner for decades. Mainly through his friendship with my cousin John Maddox. But, I’ve also had the pleasure of working with him at Dassault Falcon Jet for years. I was always met with his smile and pleasant greetings. He is going to be missed by many co-workers from DFJ.
