March 10, 1947 - June 12, 2019

Herman W. Eubanks, 72, of North Little Rock, passed away on June 12, 2019. He was born on March 10, 1947, in Little Rock, to Herman and Gertrude Eubanks.

Herman graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1965, served as a Lieutenant in the Arkansas National Guard, graduated from Hendrix College in 1970 where he finished first in his class, received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1973 and his Masters of Law from Southern Methodist University in 1974. He was a member of the Pulaski County and Arkansas Bar Associations and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association.

A Christian from an early age, Herman constantly demonstrated the gift of caring for others. Always sharing his many abilities with anyone in need. He volunteered countless hours as a baseball coach at the Sherwood Sports Complex. And later in life as a devoted fan and enthusiast of the game. Herman was an avid deer hunter, song writer, musician, poker player and project master. A jack of all trades, he was as likely to be found digging a ditch at 2 a.m. to help a stranger or rebuilding a friend's house after a fire. In his practice as an attorney, he showed an amazing ability to focus on the details of each case he handled no matter how complex and a rare ability to relate to any client, no matter their circumstance or need.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; four sons, Brandon Eubanks, Brent Phillips (Summer), Aaron Eubanks (Krystal), and Hugh Claye Eubanks (Melissa); two daughters, Meredith Snow (Brian) and Noelle Eubanks; fourteen grandchildren, Breanna (Rodney), Jacob, Matthew, Halley, Lexy, Kathryn, Aiden, Heather, Cole, Eli, Chance, Hunter, Cash, and Alexander; three great grandchildren, Milo, Gabe, and Teddy; three brothers, Gary Eubanks, Bob Eubanks, and Hugh Spinks; assistant, friend, side-kick MariGlen Manasco.

At the wishes of Herman, no services will be held.

Arrangements are entrusted to Roller-Owens Funeral Home of North Little Rock.

I only knew or got to meet Herman for a brief period years ago at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles club and I might say I’m sad to have thought of him this late and didn’t know of his passing. Herman was at home as much around the poker table with us regular guys as any man I ever had the pleasure to sit at a table with. If you didn’t know who Herman was you would have swore he was the most genuine person you had ever met. He never met a stranger and it was an honor to have known him in as little time as I did. This is a little late for I didn’t know of his passing but maybe his family will come back here at some point and read how genuine ,real and special their dad or grandpa was……the world needs more Herman’s in it in todays time ….

I don't remember when I didn't know Herman. You are missed by your friends and family. Of all the great times we spent together, those 6 years we played baseball on the same teams were great. I can still hear you talking to me.

To the Eubanks' Family, I am sorry to hear of Herman's passing. When I worked with Herman he always made it clear he loved his family, baseball, poker, music and deer hunting. I didn't realize Herman was a great writer of music until he wrote a song for me and my husband. He brought out the guitar and began to sing at a get together we had one summer. Before the night was over he had everyone laughing and crying and had three new friends that went and got their instruments. One was a banjo player, another guitar and a harmonica player. Herman switched instruments with the harmonica player for a couple of songs and they all played and sang for hours. He will live on through his children and his memory by all who knew him. I am praying for the family to have peace in their heart during this time of loss and when deer season comes around know that Herman is out there smiling as the big bucks walk by that we never see.

I was so sorry to hear of Herman’s passing. Man, they broke the mold with that guy! He was brilliant, compassionate, generous, always interested in other people, a jack of all trades, and yes, at times a bit combative. One thing was certain - he always kept the conversation lively. He came to my aid many times. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to his family and loved ones.

Herman and I were friends from first grade on. He was full of energy and driven in whatever he was interested in at the moment. He excelled in sports and was really quite good at anything he attempted. He was a good friend. Farewell Herman.

I am so sorry to hear that Herman has left us. I have many fond memories of our High School years, especially Sunday afternoons when several of us would ride around in Herman's car and, inevitably, discuss the world's problems. Herman always lead the debate. He was so smart. Unfortunately, through the years, our paths never crossed again and I regret that. Prayers and sympathy for all of his family.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” Mark Twain.

Herman was one of the 3 smartest people I know. Probably THE smartest. And his generosity was known to many — his fierce loyalty to some. I loved him like a brother. (I am 61, yet he always called me “kid.”) You who are his family know how lucky you were to have had him. I am sorry he is gone from this world and so sorry for your pain. Parker

I went through law school with Herman Eubanks. He said he was going to have the top grade in Torts under Professor Leflar, and then he did. He was always at or near the top. He was also the Junior Golf Champion for Arkansas when he was young -- and he wasn't hesitant to bet a few dollars on a golf course -- which once cost me more pocket change than I had. He was an extraordinary man all around.

To the family: I know you know this but I must say that Herman Eubanks would do right by you. I met him some 20 plus years ago, and if he knew you, he knew you. Genuine is a good word to describe him. I am glad to say I got to meet him so many years ago. His legacy will live on through his family.
