It's been almost a full week since you left us Dad. It still does not seem real. No matter how much we thought we were prepared for that day, nothing can describe the pain and shock that we all feel.

I would give anything to sit on the front porch for hours with you one last time. To hear the excitement in your voice when I asked for advice on how to fix something. To just talk to you. I didn't do that enough the past few months and I will be forever sorry for not picking up that phone sooner.

You were a great Grandpa and loved your grandbabies and they loved you. We all loved you. I truly hope that you knew that.

I miss you Dad, and it just won't be the same without you. We promise to take care of each other. Rest peacefully, free from suffering and pain. I love you.

Of all the qualities that God possesses,  love is the most dominant  one. He loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son so that we may live.  Life is what he purposed, not death. Soon he will swallow up death forever and remove all the things that causes pain and suffering. Until that time may each of you take comfort in him and in each other.
