December 31, 1921 - March 28, 2020

Camille ''Bobby'' Whitmore McNeely, 98 passed away peacefully on March 28, 2020.

She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Nicholas (Kevin), Pamela Williams (Brian), and Josie Walker (Ron). She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Monroe McNeely, Jr., her son, Eugene Monroe McNeely, III, her mother, Mamie Hightower Whitmore, her father Charles Rives Whitmore, and a sister, Patricia Hughey. She leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Jeff Nicholas (Libby), Justin Nicholas (Diana), Ellen Kowalchuk (Andy), Jessica Wiley (Chris), Scott Williams (Brooke), Will Walker, and Matt Williams (Hannah). Her 15 great-grandchildren will miss her also.

Bobby was raised in Memphis, attending South Side High School where she met the love of her life, Gene, ''Buddy.'' She also attended Memphis State University. After World War II, they moved to the family farm outside of Marion, Arkansas and raised their 3 girls. After moving to Germantown upon her husband's death, Bobby continued to work as Administrative Assistant to the County Judge of Crittenden County, Arkansas. This was her vocation and avocation for over 40 years. She dabbled in painting, played bridge, was a whiz on the keyboard at 80 WPM, a voracious reader, queen of shopping, and loved writing letters. After her retirement, Bobby became involved in the Germantown United Methodist Church and worked as a volunteer at the Owings Life Enrichment Center for many years. She spent time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling especially with her daughters.

The family will have a private graveside service this week and a celebration of her life at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Belmont Senior Living for the excellent care of Bobby during the time of her stay.

Donations may be made to St. Jude or the charity of choice.

Bobby and I spent many years at the courthouse talking
about anything that was on our mind. She was such a good friend. She always had time for me when I needed advice or just a good morning. I have thought of her so often after we both retired. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

You had a wonderful mother who was so proud of her children.

Pam, Josie and Susan -

What a Mother you had! I have nothing but fond and happy memories of Bobby - she was such a wonderful lady and I enjoyed every moment when she and I worked together for Brian. Every morning during those summers we would sit in her office, drink coffee and greet all kinds of visitors, including your Dad, Buddy. I felt like I was a part of a bigger family during those days at the Courthouse. She was an exquisite soul and lived life to the fullest. I adored your Mom (and your Dad) and am hoping that you have peace during this time.

All my best to you - Beth
