Opal Rea Smith went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2020 in Delray Beach, Florida. She was born on August 21, 1929 in Whitton, Arkansas to Ross and Lula Smithey.

Opal was member of Faith Apostolic Church. She was fiercely devoted to God and lived an honorable life that focused on serving others. She spent her life as a homemaker surrounded by a supportive family whom she adored.

Opal is survived by her daughters, Linda ''Neena'' Coley, Sharon Rhodes, and Reeca Gossan; grandchildren, Kimberly Meadors (Michael), Trey Coley (Molly), and Wesley Gossan (Jaime). She also leaves her brother Bob Smithey (Vivian) and sister Peggy Hall (Jerry) as well as nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Smith and sister, Jewel Nichols.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or to the National Association for Down Syndrome at www.nads.org.
