James ''Gene'' Pearson, 79, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2019. Mr. Pearson was born to Earl and Ada B. Pearson on March 22, 1940 in Earle, Arkansas. ''Pretty Boy Pearson'' as he was known to many, will be remembered for his love of westerns, his love and devotion to his catholic faith and his family. He was even known as ''Fastest Gun in the West''. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. One time, he even had the pleasure of meeting Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans. He was a loving and devoted family man. His memory will live on in his daughters; Missy (Joe) Armour, and Leaha (Rex) Pearson; five grandchildren, Blake Armour, Brittany Marie Armour, Brandon Pearson, Nichole Thomas, and Bailey Pearson; two great grandchildren Isaias and Gabriel Thomas; one brother, Gary Pearson; one sister Linda Edwards, and a host of extended family and friends. Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 57 years Ruth Pearson, one son, James ''Chip'' Pearson, and one brother, Donald Earl Pearson. ''Bop'' as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren will have a visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5:00-6:00pm at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow.
