Jimmy Harvey Harris

of West Memphis, AR

November 5, 1943 - December 29, 2019

Jimmy Harvey Harris passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Marion, Arkansas at the age of 76. Jimmy was born November 5, 1943 in Wynne, Arkansas to parents Dewitt and Modean Harris. He spent his life farming in the Eastern Arkansas Delta where he met and married JoAnn Smith in 1965. Together they grew and nourished their own family for the next 54 years before God called him home. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Angels Way Baptist Church when his health provided. Jimmy was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish with his life-long friend, confidant and buddy, Kenneth Brazile. He never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed him. Most of all though, he loved his family and grandchildren.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife JoAnn, his two sons; Jimmy Harris Jr. (Stacie) of Cleveland, Mississippi and Ricky Harris (Paige) of Marion, Arkansas. He also leaves two brothers; Bill Harris (Norma) of Earle, Arkansas and Thomas Richard Harris (Doris) of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren; Chandler Harris, Madelyn Harris and Mallory Harris. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Dewitt Harris.
